Farm Tours take place around our farmyard as part of a group and last approx. 1.5hrs. Visitors have the unique opportunity to help feed the animals, collect the eggs and hear from the farmer about farming life. You can see what happens on a real working farm and hear how the routine changes throughout the seasons. Tours can be tailored to your individual interests, so let us know what you would like to learn more about or see!
Our Farm Experiences are self-guided and give visitors the chance to meet our animals, see our machinery, hear the Arran food story, and relax at the picnic and play area where there is always something to do whether its rainy or sunny.
Our special animal friends include our donkeys – Hamish & Murphy, Tabitha – our miniature Shetland pony, Highland cows, chicks, rabbits, ducks, hens, goats, and our amazing alpacas.
Who can enjoy a Farm Tour/Experience?
- Everyone can visit, but we state that one adult (18 or over) should be responsible for no more than two children.
- Please leave your pets at home.
- There are mucky/steep areas on the Farm Tour which may not be suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. If required, this part of the tour can be left out or you may prefer to opt for the Farm Experience. Please contact to discuss by email prior to your tour date.
Do we need to bring anything?
The Farm Tour takes you through our working farm, so wellies or similar footwear is beneficial. It is also sensible to bring waterproof clothing if the forecast is changeable. Wellies are not necessary for our Farm Experience.
Do you cater for large parties?
Yes, we are happy to take larger parties and do bespoke tours by prior arrangement.
What if the weather is bad?
Farm Tours will continue, even if the weather is rainy, however we may alter the route to try to make the best of the weather. If the forecast is looking particularly bad, we may decide to cancel the tour first thing in the morning. If this happens, we will rearrange your tour for another day. Much of your Farm Experience is undercover so these can still take place regardless of the weather.
Do you sell your own produce?
Yes, we sell our own free range eggs and home reared pork and lamb. You can buy this after your tour or send us an email and we can have your order ready to take away.
